Pitch Fest is a free, virtual competition where high school students across the U.S. present business ideas that make a real impact. Our participants have a chance to win cash prizes, build their startup experience, and join a network of young innovators.

We want to dedicate our first competition to those high school students who are aspiring to become entrepreneurs. Our main reason is to align with our mission and to deliver a fair and even playing field. Depending on the success of this competition, we may be open to hosting events that welcome all participants in the future, so stay tuned!

The video submission should be no longer than 5 minutes and no less than 1 minute.

The judges of the competition will be evaluating your pitch based on our grading rubric, which can be found at the end of this document. Your work will also be evaluated by how much of the key and essential requirements we have asked for are implemented. Most importantly, we’re looking for originality, creativity, and effort. If you can deliver those core values in your pitch, you’ll be off to a great start on your road to success. You can also check out the judging criteria

You can still register for the competition without immediately having a concrete business idea. We encourage participants to study their everyday experiences to find common problems that can serve as inspiration for their pitch. Additionally, you may find that joining our Discord community (alongside engaging with our other free resources) can be extremely helpful for the brainstorming process.

Yes! We want to promote originality and creativity, however, if you’ve been holding onto an idea before this competition, we’d love for you to take advantage of this opportunity and give it the spotlight it deserves! We only ask that it’s only an idea or concept in development at the moment, not an established business.

The ONLY use of artificial intelligence (AI) that’s permitted is decision making, research and data analysis. The use of artificial intelligence to generate any part of your submission’s content, including images, videos, visual effects, and text, is NOT allowed.

Any AI use, including allowed uses, must be disclosed with the submission either at the end of your video via a slide, in the description of the video, or within a google document.

  • Be unique and original. Find a source of inspiration to create your own product/service rather than copying an existing one.

  • If you’re working in a team or with another person, each voice should be heard equally in your group. Support one another and collaborate as much needed to successfully develop your business and pitch.
    • If multiple team members are present during the video submission, try to delegate a part of the talking aspect of the pitch to each member of the team. Encourage your teammates to share the stage.

  • Introduce yourself with vital information about yourself such as your name, product/service name, the inspiration behind the creation of it, and anything else you feel is important related to your pitch.

  • Practice makes perfect! It’s highly recommended you practice recording your submission. The more you practice, the more confident you’ll feel for the final submission.
    • Using a stopwatch or an alarm to keep track of the time limit is a great way of practicing staying within the allocated time.

  • Express enthusiasm in your pitch! Show some energy during your presentation.
